1. What data does the app collect?
The app does not collect or store GPS coordinates, personal information, or any identifying data. The app uses GPS coordinates to determine the user’s location through Apple’s MapKit API. All GPS-based processing occurs entirely on the user’s device and is not shared with any third-party server except Apple’s map services for reverse geocoding.
2. Provide a complete and clear explanation of all planned uses of the collected data.
GPS data is used only within the app to generate the DIGIPIN code using a Government of India** official offline algorithm. Coordinates may be temporarily sent to Apple’s servers for address lookup (reverse geocoding). There is no transmission, upload, or storage of location data to any other external servers. All processing and DIGIPIN generation happens locally on the device.
3. Will the GPS data be shared with any third parties? Where will this information be stored?
No. GPS data is not shared with any third parties. Users can optionally save their DIGIPINs, which are stored locally on the device in private app memory, inaccessible to other apps or servers. This storage is temporary and tied to user actions. Users can view and delete saved DIGIPINs at any time from the Favorites tab.
4. How long will the GPS data be retained?
Location data is not stored after generating a DIGIPIN unless the user explicitly saves it. Saved DIGIPINs remain in the app until manually deleted by the user. No automatic retention of previous locations is performed.
**DIGIPIN codes are calculated using an offline algorithm modeled after official geospatial principles supported by the Government of India, including the Digital Address Code initiative by India Post and mapping resources from ISRO and the Survey of India.
